On August 27th the Orange County Realtors Local Government Relations Committee South invited Jennifer Fitzgerald, Senior Vice President, Curt Pringle & Associates to present their proposed Legacy at Coto project. OCAR was professional in accommodating a rebuttal from Save Coto as well. Afterwards, there were many great followup questions from the audience which Legacy’s spokesperson skillfully dodged but was unable to directly answer.

Great job. It’s very difficult to go into a community with a development project. Typically, those in the audience will be weighted toward those who strongly oppose. It’s difficult to remain professional and courteous in such a context. With respect to the rebuttal slide deck, having an out-of-state attorney provide yet say it is not legal advice means to me that perhaps a different person would have been better to provide it, or just leave off the lawyer credentials entirely if it is an informed personal opinion as a resident, which is also a very valid perspective. With respect to the details raised in the rebuttal deck, it’s good to see the developer submitted the list of required impact plans. It’s highly unlikely that the existing structures took into account so many guidelines and it’s good that any new development comply with all the new guidelines put in place since that time.
